How to Avoid Bad Credit Early in Life

There are so many people who fall into the trap and don’t know the first thing on how to avoid bad credit, and it usually happens early on in their adult lives. What exactly happens, and how can you avoid having bad credit in today’s world?

It all usually starts when you’re 18 and ready to face the world, while attending or getting ready to attend college. Credit card companies have access to all of your personal information and they know that mom and dad are going to help you try to build your credit and keep up with your expenses, so they send you all kinds of sweet deal offers through the mail, hoping that you will bite! So, you go off to college, and the expenses start piling on top of each other. You know, you’re going out with your groups of friends to all the functions that we normally would go to in college. And let us not forget, how much partying goes on while you’re at college and how you sometimes have to ante up and pay your part of the bill. So what do you do? You start reaching for that Visa or MasterCard, right?

Before you know it, you can barely keep up with your bills until you miss your first payment. After that, not knowing how to avoid bad credit becomes a habit as one bill piles on top of the other and you’re unable to meet the demands and keep up. The cycle repeats itself as you become older and well into your 30s, you may find yourself still in a heap of trouble with your creditors. What happened? The answer is; you fell into the bad habit of taking on too much credit and not having the means of paying your creditors on time.

So how can you learn how to avoid bad credit stories like the one just described? Well, you can start by taking charge of your financial perspective today. If you are a college student and have already gotten a taste of what it is to not be able to keep up with your credit you can start paying down the ones with the highest interest one at a time until you get rid of them so you can start all over again. If you have some negative information on your credit history already, just fall into the seven year plan and know that after the seven years you can start anew. However, by then, you need to be completely debt free so you can start all over again and not fall into the same trap. Pure and simple.

Learning how to avoid bad credit is only going to happen if you have the right mindset. Having good credit can help you do anything and accomplish anything you want monetarily in life. It can help get you great loans,  help you start up business on a shoestring, and there are so many other things that you can benefit from. Paint a picture in your mind of where you want to be financially in a few years; without good credit, you will be in dire straits and probably living paycheck to paycheck!

Job Hunting Tips for the Modern Day

Use as many job hunting tips as possible and learn how to jump through hoops to get hired. If you’re looking for some great job hunting tips I think I can provide some for you in this installment. What qualifies me as being able to provide you some sound advice? The fact that I have pounded the pavement many times, I have been there, and I am very successful as we speak. In other words I have been successful with my job hunting journeys all my life and I’m hoping to share some of the information with you.

People are so much into job search engines these days and you know what? They work! All you have to do is find a job search engine such as Job.com or Beyond.com, register for free account, and begin your search locally. Many people report that they find jobs in their area at the drop of a hat using this method. I see no reason to not take advantage of the job opportunities you can find by conducting a job search online.

If you are looking for an entry-level position I would say to try to get a job either in the retail or fast food industry if you need a job quickly. If not, it makes sense to put the word out to your friends and family that you are looking for an employment opportunity and that you would love to hear their input or other information regarding the possibility of being hired for one of their contacts. I would definitely also research as many job hunting articles as I can find on the Internet. Try to give yourself the greatest advantage possible by having the most knowledge possible that you can gain from doing your own research.

If you are a professional or an aspiring professional you should know that it’s more than a cutthroat business today to try to get hired with an established company. The first thing you should think about is your CV, or curriculum vitae. A CV is kind of like a resume but it’s not; it’s a much more detailed synopsis of your qualifications and your experience. The last time I presented my CV I enlisted the help of a professional whom I new through a contact I had. It makes so much sense to get an expert to do it for you so that they can do it according to industry standards. One of the other biggest job hunting tips I can give you is to network like a fiend! Pull out all the stops and reach out to any and every contact that you have made along the way. While you are on your job hunt don’t hesitate also to look through the job search engines available throughout the Internet.

Finally, the greatest job hunting tips in the world can’t help you unless you’re ready to go full force in aggressive fashion in today’s market. Ask yourself, “How can I make my self standout way above the rest of the pack?”

Help! I Am Unemployed, What Do I Do Now?

Virtually no one is immune to the possibility of unemployment. You may have been one of the thousands of unlucky workers in America were recently become unemployed due to a lay-off for firing. You may be telling yourself “I am unemployed but I gave so much to that company. Where’s the loyalty?” These are all valid questions but if you want to go ahead and rebuild your career you’re going to have to accept what’s been handed down to you so that you can move on full force with great speed in trying to build a new career.

People who find themselves asking other people,” Help, I am unemployed, where do I turn now?” can easily find themselves in the trap of feeling sorry for themselves. This is the worst thing you can do. There is no reason to feel ashamed for being laid off or even being fired in many circumstances because of this downturn in the economy. Whatever reason you have been given for the firing or layoff understand that many companies give general reasons for doing so and many times these are not true reasons for why you were let go, but just something to tell you in order to substantiate their actions. This is just part of the corporate world.

Instead of saying, “I am unemployed, woe is me,” put your wheels in motion!

The first thing you should do is you should figure out how to claim unemployment so that you can immediately start collecting unemployment benefits. Next consider all the available networks; put the word out to your family and friends once again that you are looking for a job and let them know what your qualifications/skills are. Do not discount the fact that you may be able to work a lesser job for say, $10,000 or $20,000 less a year than you were actually making. Remember, once again you have to start somewhere and work your way back up, even if it means taking another 2 to 5 years to do so. Make sure you spruce up your resume and hire someone to fix it up if you have to, and remember that now is the time to make finding a job your actual job so that you don’t end up on unemployment collecting a menial paycheck every two weeks.
